After a brief career in finance, I decided to make a drastic change and pursued massage therapy. I graduated from VCMT in 2014 and haven't looked back!
As my career has progressed, I have had the opportunity to pursue the more subtle aspects of massage therapy. I am very interested in working with the connective tissue (the fascia) as I find it provides longer lasting and sometimes very profound effects. I also work with the abdominal organs (the viscera) and the CranioSacral rhythm. If you are looking for a "deep tissue" massage, I think we will be mismatched. Although I treat deep structures, I do so in a slow and systematic way by working through the layers in more of a "melty" way. My treatments should not be painful but can be intense. I also incorporate a lot of compression and stretching but generally stay away from deep pointed pressure. Outside of work, my two young children keep me busy. I love being outdoors, making jigsaw puzzles, reading and hula hooping when time permits. |
