Alex Kuhlman RMT
I am a proud member of the East Van Community and I am excited to support the well-being of
my neighbours through massage therapy! Creating a safe, ethical, and welcoming treatment environment is especially important to me. I value your life experience, input, and wisdom about your body as we co-create a treatment plan together. As a queer and neurodivergent person myself, I can appreciate the unique challenges many members of the community face when searching for fulfilling healthcare and therapeutic spaces. Regardless of your life story or identity, I am deeply committed to your goals, comfort, and well-being. My commitment to community service and accessibility is what led me to a career as an RMT. As a recent graduate of VCMT, I received excellent training in a variety of massage therapy techniques such as Swedish massage, myofascial, neuromuscular and proprioceptive techniques, as well as joint mobilization. Whether you are recovering from an injury, managing chronic pain, or just want to treat yourself to a relaxation massage, I am here to provide you with the relevant assessment, treatment, and home care suggestions to guide you towards your goals. My graduating research case study was about the effects of relaxation massage targeting the central nervous system as a treatment plan for Fibromyalgia. At this time, I am most excited about working with chronic pain, disability, trauma, and chronic stress…but of course, I warmly welcome all clients. When I am not working as an RMT, you can find me enjoying time in nature, playing a good video game, training for a sprint triathlon, hosting a potluck, or out supporting social causes. I look forward to getting to know you! |
