*Richard uses NKT as his main form of treatment. See below for a description. This varies slightly from a "typical" Massage Therapy session.
From a young age, I’ve been fascinated by the human body — how it moves, how it compensates, and how it heals. That curiosity led me to earn a degree in Kinesiology from Simon Fraser University and complete my Massage Therapy training at Langara College. My own experience with sports injuries gave me a deep appreciation for the impact of manual therapy — not just in relieving pain, but in helping the body function at its best. During my training, I worked with diverse populations including spinal cord injury patients, athletes, seniors, and office workers. These experiences shaped my client-centered approach and taught me to treat the whole person, not just the symptoms. In addition to massage therapy, I integrate advanced assessment techniques from NeuroKinetic Therapy (NKT) and Proprioceptive Deep Tendon Reflex (P-DTR) into my sessions.
Outside of the clinic, I stay active through weightlifting, badminton, hiking, swimming, and meditation — practices that keep me grounded and reflect the lifestyle I encourage in my clients. |
